Missouri Option Program

In 2002, the State of Missouri implemented the Missouri Option Program. This state approved program helps districts reduce their dropout rate. The Missouri Option is for students who are behind at least one year in credits of their cohort group or are in danger of dropping out of school. Students are considered full-time as long as they meet the required criteria of the State. They must be 17 years old, complete certain required academics needed to pass the HiSET test, community service, gainfully employed, take all standardized State tests, pass Missouri and U.S. constitution tests and maintain good attendance. Missouri Option Program is NOT an early out program. When all of these requirements are met and the HiSET test is passed, the student will receive a high school diploma from their respective schools.
